A 25-year-old man has been detained for four days on charges of writing comments on the complaint of the governor of Halabja, the Metro Center said.

In a statement, the Metro Center expressed its concern and disgust with the imprisonment of a young man in Halabja for writing a comment on a Facebook page.

According to the Metro Center, the young man, Biryar Kamal Mohammed, born in 1999, was arrested on Wednesday on a complaint filed by the governor of Halabja district.

Metro Center believes that this kind of tightening of punishment for expression and arrest on weekends is a bad sign and a threat to freedom and calls for the immediate release of this young man and closing his case because imprisonment for comments is worrying and a bad precedent.
